About the Church
The Roman Catholic chapel of St Martin in Zirņi is in the settlement of Zirņi, in the Zirņi civil parish near Saldus, in Central Courland. This small chapel of the Liepāja Diocese is dedicated to St Martin.
Catholic services in Zirņi began in 1997 in the local school, and in 2001, with the help of the municipality, a permanent chapel was set up and blessed by the Bishop of Liepāja in the former premises of a house of culture. The modest church serves the local faithful and is one example of the revived Catholic communities of Courland.
