About the Church
The Church of St Thérèse of the Child Jesus at Gulbinėnai, in the village of Gulbinėnai in the Pasvalys district, is a special place with an interesting and rich history. This church is notable not only for its architecture but also for its spiritual importance to the local community.

This church's builder, the priest Antanas Valančiūnas, who served in the parish from 1947 to 1950 and later again from 1984 to 2000, is buried in the churchyard. His devotion and love for the parish made a great impression on the local community. Other important priests who served here include Ignas Šiaučiūnas, the parish's first parish priest, and Sigitas Uždavinys, who put the neglected church and presbytery back in order.
The church's architecture is simple yet at the same time very cosy. It is a long rectangular building with a wooden tower on the roof. Inside are three altars, with chest-shaped mensas and single-tier retables. At the centre of the high altar is a niche topped with a glory and a figure of Christ. The side altars feature sculptures of traditional iconography, such as St Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary with the Christ Child.
Throughout the church one senses an ancient spirit that neither time nor change has managed to erase. The church's interior is decorated with various cross and tulip motifs, which lend it a particular charm and sense of peace. On the walls can be found a carved Decalogue and a cross, conveying its religious heritage.
