About the Church
The Roman Catholic Church of Sts Peter and Paul in Lēdmane stands in the settlement of Lēdmane, in the Ogre municipality, in Vidzeme. This church is notable as the first log-built Catholic church in Latvia.
The new wooden church was consecrated by Cardinal Jānis Pujats on 29 June 2007, on the feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. Covering some 120 square metres, the church can hold up to 200–250 people.
The church is dedicated to the apostles St Peter and St Paul, two of the most important pillars of the early Church. About five hundred Catholics live in the parish of Lēdmane, and this cosy wooden church is the place of their spiritual life and community gathering.
