About the Church
The Church of St George in Lieplaukė is wooden, built in 1862, in the Diocese of Telšiai, Telšiai Deanery and Telšiai district. It stands in the village of Lieplaukė, by the Plungė–Telšiai road. The church has been mentioned since 1613, and a new one was built in 1621, but it was burned down by the Swedish army in 1627. It was rebuilt in 1673, and the parish was established in 1844. The present church was built in 1861–1862 with the funds of the parishioners. It is a single-towered church on a Latin-cross plan with 6 altars. The churchyard fence is of stone masonry, and between it and the church is a wooden presbytery. The complex of buildings also includes a wooden bell tower.

Bažnyčia medinė, lotyniško kryžiaus plano, vienabokštė. Priešais bažnyčią šventoriuje pastatytas medinis koplytstulpis.
Pastatyta 1861–1862 m. parapijiečių lėšomis vietoje 1673 m. statytos bažnyčios. Ją 1882 m. konsekravo Žemaičių vyskupas Aleksandras Beresnevičius.
Priklauso Motiejaus Valančiaus vyskupavimo laikotarpiu (1850–1875) pastatytoms ar restauruotoms bažnyčioms.
