About the Church
The Church of All Saints in Luokė is a church, built in 1821, standing in the town of Luokė in Telšiai district. The church is in folk architectural forms, on a cruciform plan, with a small turret, and its building material is wood. Although the church has been rebuilt and repaired more than once over six centuries, it still retains its historical value. In 1413, the newly baptised Samogitians built this church, and the first Bishop of Samogitia lived right here in Luokė. In the 19th century, the parish of Luokė was one of the wealthiest in Samogitia, with almost 8,000 people belonging to it. Interestingly, not far from this church, on the cemetery hill, stands another chapel of Luokė (early 19th century).
