About the Church
The Skaudvilė Church of the Holy Cross is a Catholic church built in 1797 in Tauragė district, listed in the Register of Cultural Property. The building is of vernacular architectural forms, cruciform in plan, with a small tower, and has 6 altars fitted. In the bell tower hangs a bronze bell 34.5 cm in diameter, cast in 1889 in Warsaw. Parish registers began to be kept at the church from 1791, and the archival documents were mostly destroyed in 1940. Next to the church is a fieldstone masonry fence with a gate and a wicket gate.
