About the Church
The Church of the Holy Spirit in Rukla is located in Rukla, Jonava district. It was built in 1996 of masonry and set up in the premises of a former cultural centre. Mass is celebrated in the chapel on Thursdays and Sundays, and it also organises a Way of the Cross procession from Rukla to Jonava every year on Good Friday. The church's parish priest is Fr Arnoldas Valkauskas. Feasts are also celebrated there, including Pentecost (Sending of the Holy Spirit) and Sts Peter and Paul, Apostles. A chapel had previously stood in the old cemetery of Rukla, but it collapsed when the area was handed over for the needs of the Soviet army.
