About the Church

The Church of St Anne in Skaruliai is in the Renaissance style, but also has Gothic features; it was built in 1622. The church has a Gothic Revival bell tower with valuable bells cast by Johan Delamars. The churchyard also has the Skaruliai chapel, relocated from land occupied by the Achema plant. The church stands beside road 143, Jonava–Žasliai–Kloniniai Mijaugonys, and the Skaruliai cemetery is nearby. In its history the church burned down once in a fire, but was repaired. After several parishes were abolished, it became the second church of Jonava parish. In 2010 the complex of the church's buildings was declared protected by the state.
