About the Church
The Church of St George in Skirsnemunė is one of the most remarkable architectural gems of the Jurbarkas district, where history and architecture merge into one harmonious whole.
This Gothic Revival church was built in 1903 to a design by architect Ustinas Golinevičius, which was later reworked by engineer Nikolajus Andrejevas. This organ is the largest historic organ in the Jurbarkas region, and it was once played by the composer Stasys Šimkus. In addition, the church holds a rare and ancient bell, cast by H. Bedeker in 1632, which recalls past centuries and religious traditions.
