About the Church
The Roman Catholic Church of St Ignatius of Loyola in Kuprava stands in the settlement of Kuprava (Veckuprava), in Balvi Municipality, Latgale. It belongs to the Diocese of Rēzekne–Aglona.
The parish was established in 1925, separated from the parishes of Balvi and Viļaka. The church was built and blessed in 1928 through the efforts of the priest Bronislovas Kivrāns.
The single-nave wooden church stands on a tall stone foundation; it is 18 metres long and 9 metres wide. The building originally housed a priest's flat as well as the house of prayer. A cross stands in the church garden, where devotions to Mary are held in May.
