About the Church
The Church of St Thérèse of the Child Jesus in Riga (Rīgas Svētās Terēzes no Bērna Jēzus Romas katoļu baznīca) is a Roman Catholic place of prayer in Riga's Bieriņi district, on the left bank of the Daugava. It is named after St Thérèse of the Child Jesus, one of the most beloved saints of modern times.
The church is housed in a building that was originally built for an entirely different purpose and was later adapted for parish use when it was acquired by the leadership of the Catholic Church in Riga. Today a community of Jesuit religious is also closely connected with the church.
The small Church of St Thérèse is a cosy place of prayer and gathering, bringing together the faithful of the surrounding Riga neighbourhoods and fostering a lively parish community life.
