About the Church

The Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity in Budberga is a shrine of the Diocese of Jelgava in the settlement of Budberga, by the Mėmelė (Nemunėlis) river, near the border with Lithuania.

The church was built in the fourth decade of the 20th century and was consecrated in 1939 in honour of the Holy Trinity. The small shrine was raised in the forms of Functionalist, or Modernist, architecture.

Budberga is a small rural community, whose life for a long time centred on the manor and the Catholics who lived there. The church still serves the local faithful today.
