About the Church
The Roman Catholic Church of St Joseph in Kombuļi stands in the village of Kombuļi, in Krāslava Municipality, Latgale. It belongs to the Diocese of Rēzekne–Aglona.
In 1767 a wooden chapel stood on this site, replaced in 1818 by a masonry church; until 1915 it was a filial church of the Krāslava parish, later becoming independent. Two towers were added in 1923, and the chancel in 1937.
The cross-plan church is built of brick and wood, and covered with a slate roof; sacristies are fitted on both sides of the chancel, and the floors are wooden. The church is enclosed by a stone wall.
