About the Church

The Roman Catholic Church of Ķegums is located in the town of Ķegums, on the Dauguva, in Vidzeme. Ķegums is widely known for the Ķegums Hydroelectric Power Station, built in the 1930s – one of the most important construction projects of interwar Latvia, which brought together workers and their families from various regions.

The Catholic parish belongs to the Archdiocese of Riga and serves the faithful of the town and the surrounding settlements. The small community here maintains a living Catholic tradition in a predominantly Lutheran region.
