About the Church
The Pärnu Catholic community of St John the Apostle worships in a chapel fitted out on the first floor of the building at Karusselli Street 27. The building became the property of the parish in 1937, was confiscated during the Soviet period, and was returned to the community in 1994.
The renovated and refitted chapel was consecrated by Bishop Philippe Jourdan in November 2013. Services are held in Estonian and Polish: Sunday Mass is celebrated at 11:00, the rosary is recited before Mass, and adoration follows afterwards.
The parish belongs to the Diocese of Tallinn; it is served by the priest Wodzisław Szczepanik, who also looks after the Catholic communities of Viljandi and Paide.
