About the Church
The Sompa Catholic community (Sompa kogudus) is active in the Sompa district of the town of Kohtla-Järve, in Ida-Virumaa county. This small group of the faithful has no house of prayer of its own — Mass is celebrated in secular premises, in the building of the Sompa Club (a culture house) at Humala Street 1.
Mass here is celebrated on Fridays at 11:00 in Russian. The community is served by the priest Józef Gondek, who also looks after the Catholics of Kohtla-Järve. The Sompa Club belongs to the Kohtla-Järve culture centre.
