About the Church
Didvyžiai Church of Pope St Leo II is a masonry church standing in the village of Augalai (Didvyžiai), 5 km north of Vilkaviškis railway station. The church's history goes back to 1885, when the manor owner Leonas Geištaras built it on the site of an old chapel. The church's walls were damaged during the war, but it was repaired afterwards. The church has a rectangular plan, a single tower, and a lower apse. The churchyard fence is made of wooden structures.
