About the Church
The church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Žvirgždaičiai is a Catholic church, built in 2012 in the small town of Žvirgždaičiai, in Šakiai district municipality. The history of this church begins with the building of a wooden church in 1917, but it burned down in 1944. Services were then held in the cemetery chapel. The church was closed around 1958. It was returned to the faithful in 1989. Next to the old church a new masonry church was built (architect Kazys Tamošėtis).
