About the Church
The Mažučiai chapel is an original fieldstone chapel, built in 1991. It can be found in the village of Mažučiai, Vilkaviškis district. The chapel has a miraculous spring with healing properties and is one of the sites of Catholic pilgrimage in the Diocese of Vilkaviškis. The Kaunas–Kybartai railway line runs past the chapel. The chapel's history is linked to an old wooden chapel that was destroyed during the Second World War. It was later rebuilt and then replaced by a stone chapel. Beside the chapel there is a path with 14 wayside shrine-pillars of the Sorrowful and Joyful Mysteries of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
