About the Church

The Roman Catholic Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Bauska is a shrine of the Diocese of Jelgava in the town of Bauska, near the confluence of the Mūša and Nemunėlis; the seat of the Bauska Deanery is also here.

At one time only a house of prayer operated in Bauska, served by the Jesuits of Skaistkalne. The present masonry church was built around 1864–1865 through the efforts of the priest Aleksandras Milevskis; in 1901 it was enlarged, and in 2009 renovated.

It is a small single-nave brick building with a metal roof; in 1891 a separate bell tower was raised beside it. The community especially celebrates the feasts of the Blessed Sacrament and St Francis of Assisi.
