About the Church
The Aizpūre Church of Our Lady, Help of the Faithful (Roman Catholic) stands in the village of Līdumnieki, in the Ludza municipality, Latgale, near the border between Latvia and Russia. It belongs to the Diocese of Rēzekne–Aglona.
The parish was established in 1929. The site for the church was chosen in 1931, the foundations were blessed in 1933, and the completed wooden church was consecrated in 1935 by Bishop Jāzeps Rancāns. Interior fitting-out work continued until 1971.
It is a single-nave wooden church, clad in boards, with one tower; it holds about 52 people.
