About the Church

The Church of the Mother of God at Borovka stands in the village of Borovka, in the Ūdriši civil parish, in the Krāslava district, in the Latgale region. It belongs to the Diocese of Rēzekne–Aglona.

The church was built in 1811 by the nobles Vaclovas and Kazimieras Konradas Plater. At first it was a filial church of the Krāslava parish, and it became an independent parish in 1922.

It is a small single-aisled stone and brick masonry church, about 10 metres long, with two bell towers rising by the entrance. Inside is a high altar with a sculpture of the Mother of God, a painting of Our Lady of Lourdes, and frescoes of the four evangelists; the parish has about 300 faithful.
