About the Church
The Roman Catholic Church of St James in Rudzāti stands in the settlement of Rudzāti, in Latgale, and belongs to the Diocese of Rēzekne–Aglona.
The present wooden church was built in 1911–1913 and consecrated in 1913; material from the demolished wooden church of Stirniene was used in its construction. It is a modest single-aisled wooden church, clad in boards and roofed with sheet metal.
The church has a tower about 15 metres high with a bell donated by Count Plater-Zyberg. Inside are three altars with images of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St John the Baptist, and the wooden fittings after 1921 were made by Fr A. Romovičius.
