About the Church
The Church of Christ the King in Ārdava (Roman Catholic) stands in the village of Ārdava, in the Pelēči civil parish, the Preīli municipality, Latgale. It belongs to the Diocese of Rēzekne–Aglona.
The church is housed in a masonry building that had previously served as the Ārdava House of Culture. In the mid-1980s local residents and Fr Antons Aglonietis set up a house of prayer here; the interior fitting-out — walls, pews and an altar — was completed in 1997. The parish later took over the building, and in 2001 it was consecrated in honour of Christ the King.
It is a modestly sized masonry church that has become the centre of Catholic spiritual life for the Ārdava community.
