About the Church
The Church of St Joseph the Worker in Rėkyva is a unique religious and architectural monument, situated in Šiauliai, in the picturesque area of the Rėkyva microdistrict, near the lake shore. This church has a long and rich history, dating back to manor times.
The site of the church has been distinctive since long ago. Rėkyva manor once stood here, belonging to the honourable Karpis family. The building on the manor once served as a forge, but was converted into a chapel in 1935. This was an important event for the community of the time, as the newly established chapel became a centre of spiritual life.

The building's structure is a single-nave, cruciform-plan building with a three-sided apse and a tower above the north facade. In 1991 a comprehensive repair was carried out at the Rėkyva church, which renewed and strengthened this architectural gem while preserving its authenticity and beauty. Finally, in 2009, the parish of St Joseph the Worker in Rėkyva was established, greatly contributing to the spiritual life of the local community and to the church's further development.
