About the Church
The Chapel of Our Lady, Protectress of Families, in Mostiškės is one of those modern spiritual places that appeared not so long ago but has become an important centre for the community. Located in Vilnius District, in the settlement of Mostiškės, this chapel belongs to the parish of St John the Baptist in Lavoriškės and is part of Naujoji Vilnia Deanery.
It is interesting that this masonry chapel was only fitted out in 2002, converted from the former culture-house building of the "Pergalė" collective farm. This shows how people can give old structures new meaning, adapting them to their needs and spiritual life.
Although the chapel is relatively new, it has deep roots in the local community. Previously, the faithful of Mostiškės gathered for services in the old chapel, which was the centre of their spiritual life. This new chapel has taken over that role and become another important symbol of the experience of faith.
