About the Church
The Roman Catholic community of Gārsene is active in the settlement of Gārsene, in the Selonia region, near the border with Lithuania. It belongs to the Jēkabpils Deanery of the Diocese of Jelgava.
Gārsene is known for its Neo-Gothic manor house. The local Catholic community does not have a separate church building: in summer services are held in the Lutheran church of Gārsene, and in winter – in Gārsene Castle (the manor house). The faithful are served by priests of the Jēkabpils Deanery.
