About the Church

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity at Svente is a Roman Catholic church standing in the village of Svente, in Augšdaugava Municipality, near Daugavpils. It belongs to the Diocese of Jelgava.

The masonry church was built in 1800 in honour of the Most Holy Trinity by the manor owner Kazimieras Plateris-Zyberkas. The building has a rectangular plan, and a bell tower with bells rises above the facade.

The church interior has three wooden altars, a pulpit and pews, made in 1913 by the joiner S. Meinardas. The church remains the centre of spiritual life for the Svente community.
