About the Church
The Chapel of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Usėnai is in Usėnai, in the Šilutė district – a village of the Pamarys region south-east of Šilutė, near the Klaipėda–Pagėgiai railway.
A Catholic chapel has operated here since 2002. Its dedication is the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, so the main feast is celebrated at the Assumption, on 15 August. The chapel is served by the priest of Pagėgiai, and Holy Mass is celebrated once a month.
The chapel belongs to the Šilutė Deanery of the Diocese of Telšiai. A choir and an altar-servers' group are active in the community, and children are prepared for their First Communion.
