About the Church
Pajevonys Church of St John the Baptist is a stone masonry building, built in 1928 in Pajevonys, Vilkaviškis district. The new church was built after the earlier thatched-roof masonry church was destroyed by the actions of the German army during the First World War and the Second World War. The church has Neoclassical features, and after renovation gained a portico. The interior has three naves separated by pillars, and the central section is covered by groin vaults. A churchyard has been laid out, reached by a flight of steps leading up to it.

Atvirukas, nespalvotas. Pavaizduoti Pajevonio (Vilkaviškio rajonas) Pajevonio Šv. Jono Krikštytojo bažnyčios griuvėsiai. Nuotrauka tarpukario laikų, bažnyčia buvo sugriauta per Pirmąjį pasaulinį karą, tarpukariu atstatyta. Vėl stipriai apgadinta per Antrąjį pasaulinį karą. Atstatyta sovietmečiu, stovi iki šiol. Atviruko averso viršuje yra trumpas spausdintas tekstas lieuvių kalba.
