About the Church
The Piliuona chapel operates in the village of Piliuona, in the Taurakiemis eldership of Kaunas district, and belongs to Prienai Deanery. It is a cosy house of prayer, set up for the convenience of the local community.
The chapel opened in 1994, so that the faithful would not have to travel about 5 km to the church at Margininkai. It is housed in the building of the Taurakiemis cultural centre, in the south-eastern corner of the ground floor, and occupies about 150 square metres. In 2013 the chapel's interior was renovated.
Sunday Mass is celebrated in the masonry chapel, some sacraments are administered there, and religious education classes were also held there. Small but important to the community, it continues the parish's living tradition of faith.
